United Way Initiative

With the funding support of the United Way of Norman for FY 2014/15, S-CAP has launched an extensive health and safety program to train participants in self-management of physical and/or mental illness, addiction, and reduction of relational and familial violence.

This project will include monthly workshops covering topics such as: recovery planning, nutrition, wellness, meditation, yoga, self-defense, and healthy relationships. Mentor-coaching will also be provided to participants to create action plans and growth charts in support of the W.R.A.P. (wellness recovery action plan) model. Ongoing outcome measurement and evaluations will track participant progress and identify program enhancement areas.

Workshops are offered every second Thursday each month from 7-9 pm at the Westwind Unitarian Universalist Church located at 1309 W. Boyd in Norman, OK.

**Spring workshops include: resource panel, meditation and yoga, and self-defense.

*** Coaching sessions are still available for eligible clients. Sessions are 30-45 minutes long. They can be done in-person or by phone. Sessions are designed to move you forward in your life by exploring what works, what doesn’t and what can be done in the future. Coaching is free!!!
