University of Oklahoma Outreach will provide trained coaches to facilitate coaching sessions with S-CAP program participants. Participants will have access to a minimum of six coaching sessions. Each session will be forty-five minutes long. Pre- and post-assignments will be given to clients to further the progress toward the accomplishment of client action plan goals.
The coaching approach is “Co-Active” in that both the coach and coaching client co-create coaching discussions, design growth plans, and develop accountability mechanisms. The content of the coaching program model is adapted from Well Being: The Five Essential Elements by Tom Rath and Jim Harter. In the Well Being study, conducted by Gallup, it was found that individuals in more than 150 countries revealed the interconnected elements that shape our lives of Career Wellbeing, Social Wellbeing, Financial Wellbeing, Physical Wellbeing, and Community Wellbeing. While 66% of people are doing well in at least one of these areas, only 7% are doing well in all five areas. This model is designed to expand an individual’s awareness of what makes their life worthwhile and uncover how to get more.
